Top 10 Supplements

On this single page, we have compiled the top 10 supplements for overall success in a bodybuilding program. This list will cover all areas of bodybuilding supplements. From protein and weight gainers to pre-workout drinks and fat burners. All though this list may change over time, we feel that using these supplements as a starting point, will help anyone achieve the goals they want. And before you ask NO this site is not sponsored by any of these companies, this is just what I have found WORKS through years of trial and error. I’ve also provided links to all of the products so that you can read more and educate yourself!

1. Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey - A Great overall protein, VERY high quality and not a bad price either. Mixes easilyoptimum-100-whey-gold-5lb-1 and I haven’t had a bad flavor yet. This is great first thing in the morning to get that nutrition that your body was missing while you we’re sleeping. This is also a great post-workout protein to start feeding those muscle right after your workout.

2. Olympian Labs Omega-3 Fish Oil - A diet full of healthy fats is essential to a supplement stash and fish oil pills are the best way to get these fats. Besides protein I dont think that there is a more important supplement to have in your arsenal. It promotes body fat reduction and promotes muscle building, those 2 things are exactly why you’re hitting the gym hard every day! Also it promotes heart health! (Source: Medline Plus)

3. Optimum 100% Casein Protein – This is a great slow digesting protein. Slow digesting protein is great for your last meal of the day. While your sleeping, this is when your body is repairing all that damage you did at the gym, but if your body has nothing to feed off of, it has nothing to build from! Casein protein can take up to 6-8 hours to fully digest, perfect for your entire sleep cycle!

4. Controlled Labs White Flood - This is absolutely the best pre-workout supplement that there is out there. Tons of energy and focus in the gym. If you have trouble getting yourself to the gym after work, or just don’t have the energy to go in the morning, try this. It comes in 2 forms(powder and pills) I prefer the powder, it mixes easily and does not taste anything like a supplement, it is tasty and I enjoy drinking it!

5. SciVation Xtend – This is a great pre-workout or during your workout. If you’re not into the caffeine in other workout supplements, I’d suggest this. Dose is 2 scoops, take 1 scoop before with water, then sip on the other scoop throughout your workout. A nice blend of Vitamin B6 and BCAAs(Branched Chain Amino Acids) to keep you going throughout your workout, and help you recover faster after.

6. Universal Animal Pak – Some people think taking any more than your regular old multivitamin is too much. Multivitamins from the store shelf are designed for every day people doing every day things. If you’re hitting the gym hard you need much more than that. Universal Animal Pak is a pack of pills that have every kind of vitamin you could imagine under the sun, and more! I like to take them with my post-workout meal, so my body gets all of the vitamins/minerals/nutrients it needs.

Controlled-Labs-Green-MAGnitude7. Controlled Labs Green Magnitude – This creatine product is the best as far as creatine products go. It is a special blend of different types of creatine that will not cause bloating(like creatine monohydrate does). It is also the best tasting supplement I’ve ever tasted, if I could drink it all the time, I would! Another thing I like about Controlled Labs products, is when you open it, it’s filled to the top, unlike other brands where you may feel ripped off when you open the tub and see it’s only half way filled.

8. Primaforce CLA – CLA(Conjugated Linoleic Acid) is another healthy fat that has been proven in studies to not only reduce body fat, but some studies even show that it targets that stubborn lower belly fat that everyone has trouble with. It is naturally occurring in meat and dairy products, but studies have shown over the years with mass production of these products, and added hormones, the amount of CLA in meat and dairy products has declined over the years. Some people even believe this to be one of the causes of the obesity epidemic. This is something that should be taken every day, with meals, just like a vitamin. There are many CLA products out there, Primaforce CLA is what I use, but educate yourself, and choose what you feel is right for you!

9. Optimum ProComplex Gainer – If you’re having trouble putting on muscle this is the product to get. A perfectly well rounded weight gainer, that includes 7 (Seven!) different kinds of protein, for the ultimate fuel. I like to break up the 600 calorie serving throughout the day, with multiple meals to insure I am getting the proper nutrition at all hours of the day.Meltdown

10. VPX Meltdown – After a few months of using The ProComplex Gainer to build muscle, I know it’s time to turnaround burn some of that fat off too. I use VPX Meltdown for this. This is the only fat burner I’ve ever tried where I can literally feel it working. I’m not talking about crazy heart palpitations or anything, but you feel warmer and can feel the increased energy. Another thing I like about this product is it is only 1 dose per day(3 pills), most other fat burners are 2 times a day, and if taken too late at night can effect your sleep cycle. This fat burner is also proven by numerous independent studies, most others are studies done in their own labs! (Source: JISSN)

There’s the list of the top 10 supplements. Use some of them, or use them all for the best results, over time this list will change, and I plan on blogging about any changes I will make to the list, as well as a few blog posts about some more in depth reviews of these individual products.
